At the beginning of the week Boards reported from Sail for Gold, where Nick Dempsey picked up and bronze medal, and Olympic windsurfing received some well deserved coverage on the BBC, click here for the full story.

This weekend there are clinics galore going on, including ‘blasting, gybes and jumps’ from GetWindsurfing at Hayling Island and a wave clinic from the Baker Academy at Shoreham.

On the equipment front, North Sails treated Boards to some inside information on their new sails, while Quatro showcased their new SUP range.

Pistol River Wave Bash 2011 – Day 2

Check out the second day of action from the Pistol River Wave Bash, the second round of the American Windsurfing Tour 2011. Super long day, with the AWT getting through the entire double elimination brackets in all divisions. Head Judge Matt Pritchard cracked the whip and sailed into the sunset running heats till 9:30 at night.

After two long days and a full double elimination in the books the results are…

Here’s some recent Hookipa video action from last Monday. This is action from the first shift of the day featuring Skyler Haywood, Kai Lenny, Josh Stone and Mark Angulo. Nothing epic as far as wave size goes – mostly head-high, occasionally bigger, but these guys were out having fun nonetheless. There’s a lot of talk lately about Mark Angulo’s Mutant. You can see another example of one that he lands near the end of the video.
