As summer gives way to autumn you may want to consider where to get your windsurfing fix in the dark days of this winter, give those colder months some bright shining light and consider a Jem Hall ‘Beautiful Brazil’ coaching clinic and of course enjoy a fantastic holiday.

The availability for this Brazil combo clinic is now down to the last few places. You can choose to take clinics in both Icari and Jeri in succession or just do one with some practice / holiday time pre and / or post clinic. Intermediates or first timers on a trip with Jem are urged to take the less challenging Icari clinic as a warm up in readiness for the more advanced conditions of Jeri.

Jem has lined up a fantastic beach buggy ride North for the trip from Icari to Jeri as the tour moves destination. Over the past few years Jem’s clients have pulled off all manner of stunts from HIGHER jumps, to FASTER gybes, and board speed to STRONGER first loops and wave rides, and definitely moved from winners to wavesailors whilst on his reliably windy clinics in Brazil. There are a host of connections through Lisbon to Fortaleza making it an option for many international clients.

The clinic dates as a guide are November 25th to Dec. 5^th with a myriad of options. They are for Advanced Intermediates to Advanced sailors who are waterstarting, blasting in the straps solidly and making a few gybes and are hungry to: gybe better, tack, learn to jump and really fly, loop, wave ride and style up their sailing.

Jemmy in Mauritius

As you look to get your windsurfing fix whilst the SW winds are not playing ball consider stepping up your sailing in 2011 on a Jem Hall coaching clinic and of course enjoying a fantastic holiday. The bookings for Mauritius are hotting up and the continuing strategy of moving the clinic into September certainly paid off last year with wind and waves available on tap. His clients pulled off all manner of stunts from first carve gybes to first loops, and also got their first tastes of wavesailing or sailing in big frontside conditions whilst enjoying the fabulous hotel at Indian Resort, Le Morne.

Adding to its already impressive line-up of publications and DVDs the RYA has launched the latest in its windsurfing series, RYA Advanced Windsurfing and is offering one lucky reader the opportunity to win a coaching session with Simon Bornhoft the book’s author and windsurfing legend.

Jem Hall has been asked to release his 2011 coaching clinic itinerary early as the majority of his 2010 sessions sold out both early and quickly whilst demand is already high for next year.

He kicks off 2011 with his new venue of Marsa Alam, Egypt in March. Then takes in the usual suspects of Moulay in May for the waveheads, Prasonisi, Rhodes in June and September for all levels, and PSC, Baja in August for pure ‘down the line’ waveriding joy.

As he goes into autumn 2011 Mauritius is on the cards in late September and then he is back for creamy Irish waves in Brandon Bay in October. Last up is joyous Jeri in Brazil for the advanced sailors to move on up with all manner of stunts.

Jem’s first clinic to Moulay Bouzerktoun got off in style. Two solid days of 30-35 knots and logo-high waves has caused bruised hands and egos but the clinic is about to enter a new level. Today (Wednesday) is forecast to bring an unseasonal 12-second swell and with plenty more wind forecast for the remainder of the week, this clinic is going to be one to remember!!

As Jem Hall contemplates a more settled married future to the lovely Sophie he has been asked to bring forward details of his 2011 coaching clinic offerings as the majority of his 2010 sessions sold out both early and quickly. Jem kicks off 2011 with his new venue of Marsa Alam, Egypt which has already received great feedback and been both suggested and its virtues extolled up by his band of traveling clients.

Around 1 hour from the new airport at Marsa Alam, this superb untouched area has to be seen to be believed. Set among the Wadi Gamal National Park it is a great windsurfing spot with constant sideshore wind from the left. A lagoon with shallow water on the inside offers ideal conditions for windsurfers of all levels to crack tacks, gybes and other stunts and both Intermediates and experts will also enjoy the bumpier waters out the back. With the lack of crowds and plenty of space, it’s been described as being like ‘Dahab 20 years ago’. This is a fantastic place to windsurf for sailors of all levels and the Club Mistral centre will ensure you are well looked after and have plenty of toys.

The hotel is very plush and is a blend of modern and traditional architecture with large spacious rooms, all air-conditioned and has a cool, relaxed atmosphere even on the hottest of days. The venue is also highly acclaimed as a diving & snorkelling paradise.
