French wave and freestyle ripper Vincent Mellouet passes away…

Sad news as top French sailor Vincent Mellouet loses his life doing what he loved; catching waves in Brittany this weekend. Always an impressive figure on the water, Vincent was a top-level sailor at both freestyle and waves. His most recent video ’6/5mm’ (below) showed just how dedicated he was to the sport, braving even the coldest conditions to score a good session.

Vincent was supported by Fanatic/North and ION who released the following statement:

Vincent was an outstanding personality and representative. We keep him in mind for what he stood for, positive attitude and a love of the sport. Our thoughts are with his family and in particular his wife, Blandine Fort, and his brother, Benoit, in these difficult times…’

A sad day for the windsurfing world – remember Vincent as the great sailor he was; here he is showing his dedication and great personal level in ’6/5mm’.
