Tiree Day Four - Calm Before the Storm

Amy Carter Amy Carter

All fleets officially released for the day in Tiree as it’s clear the wind will not come through. But competitors will be making the most of their time by running a youth clinic this afternoon.

RYA Scotland have brought over a number of budding young windsurfers to show them what competition entails and inspire them into wavesailing! Fingers crossed the pros and other riders can set a good example for the future of our sport!

Next announcement for the sailors will come at 7pm tonight, so Boards will have the latest for you tomorrow morning – it looks like we could be on for some competition!

After the howling winds prior to the event Tiree has now been hit by a few days of calm. The forecast is looking better for the end of the week and all the competitors are still busy on the island with clinics and other activities running day and night.

There is a little wind, but clear sunny skies in Tiree today – we will keep you updated throughout the day and let you all know as soon as there is a hint of competition!

Tiree, waiting for the wind...
Tiree, waiting for the wind…
