The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) is fast becoming the UK’s number one windsurfing location. This ultimate boarding venue making use of the ample sheltered waters in Portland Harbour has attracted the attention of the UK Windsurfing Association (UKWA) as the ideal competition setting. The annual UKWA Youth and Masters took place at the Academy from the 5th to 6th October attracting 93 participants to enjoy not only the Olympic racing waters but also the onshore party facilities with outdoor deck. Bob Ingram, Chairman of the UKWA, commented, “The WPNSA is a superb venue to hold such as a diverse event which includes youths right through to masters, the safety element of Portland Harbour is very attractive for our participants. The Olympics showcased how incredible our home UK waters are for windsurfing and the Academy is making positive steps to keep this legacy alive post Games. Backed up by incredible onshore facilities and knowledgeable events team, the venue can cater to our competition as well as social event requirements.”
