Pwllheli This Weekend - Everyone Welcome

The UKWA are journeying to Pwllheli this weekend for the next course racing event of the series. Boards caught up with regular competitor and (it seems!) raceboard media man Louis Morris to find out more about the event:

Racing it Pwllheli in 2012...
RS:X racing at Pwllheli in 2012…

This is the forth event of 6, which culminates in Weymouth this October to crown the UK champions.

Everyone is welcome, online entry is now closed for Pwllheli, but entry is available on the day. Anyone can enter you just need to be a UKWA member.

The UKWA Cup series gives racing for Techno, RS:X, Raceboard and Formula class equipment. Takes place from Abererch Sands Holiday Centre, where there is camping for the weekend, racing takes place from the beach with the amazing backdrop of Snowdonia. The wind looks good, although Northerly will give some tactical shifty and gusty racing.

Favourites for the win

Raceboard: Louis Morris (only done one Cup event so far this year, but unbeaten since June 2012), Mark Kay (multiple UK champion and former world champion), Rob Kent (multiple UK champion, last years Inland champion, currently leading the Cup series), Tom Naylor, Harriet Ellis and Annette Kent will be battling it out for first Lady

Formula: Dave Coles – loves it when it’s windy, last years champion, Chris Bond, Tim Gibson

Techno: fresh from the world championships, it’ll be a tough one, with many of the older kids likely to move onto RS:X.

RS:X: Don’t know who’s entered, but the level in the youth squad at the moment is crazy!
