Mikey Clancy started competing today in an event that looked impossible from his hospital bed in Dublin 14 months ago. With a triple operation finally leaving Mikey with a fused ankle the doctors said his winsurfing days were over. But Mikey who is 21 and a university student decided to see how his ankle stood up to the rigours of windsurfing after rehab with less ankle rotation and here he is today back competing at the PWA Pozo World Cup. Mikey has been training in Fuerteventura, Pozo as well as all spots on the West Coast of Ireland is looking forward to competing against the world’s best windsurfers again.
