One of the most exciting developments on the British Slalom Association (BSA) Series for 2011 is the collaboration between the BSA’s Master Blaster Fleet and the National Windsurfing Festival (NWF).

Founded by Allan Cross in 2005, the emphasis of the NWF has always been placed firmly upon the freeride sailor, creating a welcoming atmosphere and social event that every windsurfer feels they have a right to be part of. The stunning success of the NWF events over the years is down to this all-encompassing philosophy, which is something the Master Blaster Fleet of The BSA is striving to emulate for 2011. Al comments: “The National Windsurfing Festival (NWF) are delighted for the opportunity to join forces and strengthen its bond with the BSA. Enabling more like-minded sailors from across the country to join in the friendly non-intimidating format of master blaster racing conducted from a beach near you. After all it’s about getting people on the water having fun!”

With the BSA’s final 2010 event at the OTC in Weymouth attracting 95 entrants across all fleets, the BSA series is looking forward to a great tour in 2011. Chris Lewis from the BSA was super stoked with this latest addition to the BSA brand: “Allan’s work with NWF and windsurfing as a whole has been truly inspirational and I feel that the increased synergy between the BSA and the NWF can only be a good thing for British Windsurfing. The importance of inclusivity and accessibility for all ages and abilities is a corner stone of the BSA’s philosophy and something we strive to build into every one of our tour events.”

The first BSA event is on Hayling Island on the 23-24 April and promises to open the series with a bang, so come and get involved and enjoy the camaraderie. For more information, visit www.windsurf-bsa.com or email enquiries@windsurf-bsa.com
