The 2012 Hi-Winds Amateur World Challenge windsurfing tournament takes place at the Fishermans Huts on Palm Beach, Aruba between 02 and 09 July.

This ten day competition attracts the most competitive professional windsurfers and hundreds of amateurs to the island of Aruba and is sanctioned by the PBA (Professional Board Sailers Association). Windsurfers and Kitesurfers of all ages and all abilities are invited to enter and compete in a range of competitions.

Aspiring windsurfers can enter Slalom and long distance competitions in the following classes: PRO/Open – all ages/ Women – all ages/ Masters 35yrs+, GrandMasters 45yrs+/Juniors 15-18yrsa nd Under 15s/Beginners – sails less than 3.3m. So windsurfing families get out there! For Freestylers there are competitions in the following age groups 19 yrs+, Juniors 15-18yrs and Under 15s .

Entry fees start at $145 with Freestyle and Distance racing. This year, the Hi-Winds will be dishing out loads of cool products and money prizes. All participants will get a fun-packed goodie-bag and the chance to win the prestigious Hi-Winds trophy.
