LAIRD AT JAWS FOOTAGE

01:30PM Tue, 24th December 2002

On November 26th, an enormous swell hit the coasts of Hawaii.

Laird Hamilton, as one of the pioneers of tow-in surfing in (very big) waves,
was the first one in the water that day.
The wave of Peahi on the island of Maui, also called Jaws, is Laird’s favorite
playground. In the Hawaiian surfscenes, M. Hamilton is nowadays known as ‘The
Master of Jaws’; needless to say more.
That day, Laird had invited a few of his friends to spend some time on his rollercoaster.

You can have a look at

It’s definitely worth the few minutes of download.

Laird in duo with Kelly Slater; Laird on the lefthander of Jaws; he’s one of
the few ones who dare to surf this part of the wave that is now known as ‘Laird’s
Left’.
