SAFETY AT SEA

09:58PM Thu, 29th November 2001

The Royal National Lifeboat Association (RNLI) has a very interesting section
on its web site looking at safety issues for various watersports. In their windsurfing
section they ask the question:

What would you do if you came across someone a mile offshore with a broken
mastfoot?

To which various authorities and organisations, including ourselves, have posted
some ideas and answers.

It makes for interesting and thought-provoking reading. This is a very realistic
situation, which you may well find yourself experiencing one day. Would you
know what to do?

Check it out at the web address below – click on the ‘WAVES’ – SEA SAFETY ISSUES link from the RYA home page.
