The Ocean Carnival (in association with Hapstead Volvo)

The Ocean Carnival is held over the weekend of 28-30 May (bank holiday) at Lagoon Watersports in Hove.

The Ocean Carnival is not just another ‘extreme’ sports event. At this event the general public can not only watch some of the most extreme sports in the United Kingdom, but they can also actually get involved and try the sports for themselves.

At the centre of the Ocean Carnival are the main ‘Water’ sports, such as Windsurfing, Dinghy Sailing and Powerboat rides. However for the 05 Carnival there will also be a range of other activities such as wakeboarding, Zap Cats, Dragon Boat Racing, along with a Skateboard and BMX Jam!

·      Lagoon Watersports Taster Sessions

We will be offering Windsurfing and Dinghy Sailing taster sessions to the general public throughout the bank holiday weekend. The cost is kept at a minimum at around £7.50 per adult and £5 per child to encourage people to have a go at Windsurfing and Dinghy Sailing. It’s a great fun day for everyone involved, and we can teach children from the age of 6.

Give us a call on 01273 42 48 42 to book yourself a space on one of the sessions.

·      The UKWA (United Kingdom Windsurfing Association) National Racing Championships.

The National Racing championships are being held off the beach at Lagoon Watersports, with over 300 competitors expected to turn up, the racing is bound to be intense, and great fun to watch!

·      The UKWA Freewave Championships

The Freewave circuit make a stop off at Lagoon Watersports, with a bit of wind, Hove beach can provide some excellent Windsurf jumping conditions, and so could set the scene for an excellent event.

·      Wake Boarding Demonstrations

During the lunch hours on both Sat and Sun we will be running Wake Boarding demonstrations on the Lagoon. This is great fun to watch, as the Lagoon Staff and some local riders pt on an exciting display of tricks and jumps.

·      Impact Charity Dragon Boat Racing

Impact is a local charity that raises money for local youth groups in Brighton and Hove. They will be the lagoon on the Monday 30th, for Dragon Boat Racing that they have organised. This is a sponsored event whereby people will pre-register their teams and raise money for Impact by getting people to sponsor them to compete in the event.
