In 2004- 2005 the Shak at Nanny Cay will continue its drive for the youth market with an increase in school windsurf and surf programmes running 3 of its successful u16 freestyle meets at Nanny Cay of which its first trial had 22 kids enter with 40 proud onlookers enjoying a bbq on the beach. Moving further up to hardcore the shak initiated Tortolas first superx challenges, a rapid growing discipline in windsurfing where competitors race on a moto cross style track for 20 mins scored on the highest and most radical jumps. And for the old guard the BVI spring regatta 3 day windsurfing formula series in April 05.
Super x series will run 3 seasonal series in 2005 based on winds, with a new hangout at Nanny Cay spectators see up to 20 competitors thrash it out 100 meters offshore. In the near future the shak will combine these events to run 3 extreme sports days with skateboarding, windsurfing races and kite surfing demos at Nanny Cay with bbq promoting.
